Radin Mas Community Art Project
7 August 2026
A Community Art Project that celebrates Singapore’s 61st Birthday & Radin Mas Primary School’s 100th Birthday! One Community, One Shared Story.
The Community Artwork celebrating Radin Mas Primary School’s 100th Anniversary has been unveiled at the pedestrian overhead bridge along Lower Delta Road by Mr Melvin Yong, Adviser to Radin Mas SMC Grassroots Organisation. Featuring 9 mural panels and 4 ceiling panels, the artwork brings together stories and memories inspired by the rich heritage of our neighbourhood and school. More than 1,000 pieces of artwork were contributed by our students, staff, parents, SAC members, alumni and the wider Radin Mas community, with selected pieces thoughtfully brought together by Mr Fish Jaafar, a visual and community mural artist. Our journey began at the start of this year with a heritage learning journey around the Radin Mas community, led by heritage researcher and tour guide, Mr Sarafian Salleh. Our Art Club students explored and learnt more about prominent landmarks such as Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim, St Theresa’s Cathedral, Tang Gah Beo Temple and Makam Puteri Radin Mas (Princess Radin Mas Ayu’s burial site). Inspired by these stories and guided by Mr Fish Jaafar and our teachers, our students expressed their discoveries and memories as drawings.
During our PE, Art and Music (PAM) Festival, the whole community joined in! Our Art Club members also became Art Leaders, guiding their fellow students in capturing and illustrating their cherished memories of Radin Mas Primary School.
More than just a mural, this vibrant gallery celebrates our shared heritage, cherished memories and the many people who make our Radin Mas Community home. The artwork is presented by Radin Mas Citizens’ Consultative Committee, PAssionArts, Radin Mas Constituency Grassroots Organisations and Radin Mas Primary School; supported by Land Transport Authority, Radin Mas Primary School Alumni and Radin Mas Primary School Parent Link.
